What gauge/size chain is used on the turnbuckles?

I need to purchased some chain for my turnbuckles...what gauge should I use? I looked at 5/16" but wondered if maybe I should go to 3/8"??? PO used happijac tie downs on his truck but I installed t...

Hi Phil the chains on our tie downs are 1/4 inch. We have an Adventurer 9.5 and if you look at the anchor points on your TC you will probably see that is the weakest link. At least that is on our TC. You could go with 5/16 for more comfort however 3/8 seems like over kill. Have probably 28,000 miles of using 1/4 inch. Allygerry
