Does anyone have mirrors that allow you to see down along side of trailer ?
My mirrors have always been set up that way........down along side/behind/next to trailer
Yes, I can see down along side of trailer. Unfortunately my wheels are not along side my trailer, they are under it. Take that back, I guess the one that came off was along side for a moment.
My wheels are also inset slightly, but I can still see both wheels/tires on both sides of my trailer from my driver's seat. However, I think I have some of the VERY BEST towing mirrors available outside of the $1K Velvac type mirror found on MHs and higher end Class "C"s or a custom set of "WEST COAST" type mirrors. In fact I question how adequate any of the OEM "factory" tow mirrors like on the Ford SDs are.

My Dodge mirrors let me see.........
My 2000 Ford F150 mirrors let me see.........
Heck even them old door mounted mirrors on my 1976 Ford F250 let me see.......
Have a tough time understanding/getting past folks saying they have driven with flats/missing tires/smoking brakes-wheels and not know it. (Other than a toad hiding behind the backend of a MH)
I can't see a thing along side of my TT with the factory mirrors on my 2004 Chevy half ton. I even have to swerve a little to see if anyone is following me. If I towed very far I would want better mirrors.
I would think with the right mirrors you might be able to see the smoke but, I suppose if you had a strong wind blowing from that side the smoke might be blown under the TT and dissipated by the time it got to the other side.
