The GVW is not gleaned -- it is measured on a scale.
If you meant to refer to the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, that does not have to be gleaned either --
it is stated on the certification plate for an existing trailer or in the manufacturer's specs for the different models.

A lot of times the GVWR has to be gleaned from mfg. spec/brochures cause they don't list GVWR.
They list 'shipping weight' and 'carrying capacity'
Now if you can actual see the trailer..then the data plate will have GVWR
