I would say it's case of a poor dealer. Our first dealer (local) was like that on a Forest River product. For warranty issues, they wanted you to drop your trailer off and they wouldn't take your word for what needed fixing. Then they'd look at it to determine what needed to be done (and OMG, it's exactly what you told them, pfft.). Next, they'd contact the factory for authorization which would take 1-2 weeks. Then they'd order parts - another 1-2 weeks. When the parts arrived, they'd schedule the work into their busy schedule to suit themselves. Twice, it took nearly 1 1/2 months for straightforward repairs. Fortunately it was at the end of the season and if this was in the peak summer season, we would have been super choked. We'd never go back there for anything. The service manager was quite rude as well.
A simple bathroom door adjustment took 3 visits to fix it. First they made it a little better. Second visit, they made it worse. On the 3rd trip they got it done okay. It took over a year to get faulty brakes fixed which had grease or cosmoline in them, a broken spring and 4 warped drums. Two windows would not close tightly. So rather than tweek the frames, they replaced the entire windows (long shipment time to the dealer too), one of which was a large picture window. It seemed to be a make work project for them...
I've said a number of times, when looking for a new RV, also check out the dealer. You can find the best of units out there, but a bad dealer can turn things into a nightmare.
Our current dealer is great. If something needs attending to, you can take it there right away and they will fix it right away. I don't know if they are empowered differently to go ahead with repairs, but I'm sure they don't want a unit sitting around on their lot any longer than it absolutely needs to.
