As for the things that KZ actually builds and puts together, (walls, interior cabinetry, roof assembly, etc.) I would say it's good. And as for the various components supplied to KZ for installation (fridge, AC unit, Lippert frame, windows, etc.), all the usual sorts of things that can go wrong with them, obviously can. In an overall package sense, I would say it's above average and is reflected in the 2 year warranty they have. Also, my impression is that KZ's quality has improved somewhat in the past number of years compared to earlier years, but I could be wrong. Our 2014 Spree has very few issues to deal with after one season.
I think where you may find things are much better compared to other brands is the quality of service from the KZ dealer. Support from the factory (via the dealer) has been outstanding in our experience although they can be slow to deal with some things and communication could be a bit better.
KZ was bought out by Thor industries earlier this year and it remains to be seen what, if any, significant changes will happen. According to our dealer, they expect to see more "bling" on new models.
For 2014, the Spree line has a new arched ceiling and light grey exterior which are really nice:
