- shepstoneExplorerDont have either of the bilstiens but why the 4600 over the 5100?
Edit. Oops sorry didnt see the second page before posting - ktmrfsExplorer IIbilsteins. on our 04.5 I switched at 10K miles, on the 2015, switched at about 200 miles. WAY WAY better than factory shocks when towing.
BTW later model 2500/3500 GM don't have a steering damper, but bilstein makes a "replacement" and it fits in the mounting that is still on the truck. Switched to a bilstein damper on the 04.5 around 50K miles, and bought one for the 2015 as soon as we bought it and installed it. - N-TroubleExplorer5100s have a more forgiving ride for a daily driver. Have had both 4600 and 5100s. Prefer the 5100.
- GeoBoyExplorerBilstein 4600's.
- Grit_dogNavigatorYup. Got about 120kmi on a set of 5100s right now and none of them have blown out.
4600s are better suited for low speed damping/heavy loads though. - rhagfoExplorer IIIX7 on Bilstein's
- IAMICHABODExplorer IIDitto on the Bilsteins,This place has had the best prices and service that I have found, in the many years that I have been doing business with them.
