What kind of insulation is "Maximum Fill"?

It's as much as they can put in before it overflows, just like your black tank!!!!

"R" values are real world numbers, basically how much resistance to heat transfer a material has. The higher the R the slower the heat loss. A high R value is nice but only part of the story.

Max fill is an adverting term for something like "we crammed as much insulation into it as we could". Since TT walls are not all that thick and I doubt the TT folks are going to use a high dollar NASA type insulation, most run of the mill units will have about the same heat loss.

It is my understanding that the 4 season TT's do pay more attention to heat loss which often include double pane windows, attention to weather stripping, and potential cold spots; sometimes adding axillary heating.

My 2010 Dutchmen has fiberglass batting. How well distributed it is I do not know. The AC does keep it cool in 90 degree weather and we have camped when the temperature was in the high 20's at night with just an electric space heater. That is good enough for our needs.

All of the specs are nearly meaningless without verification.

It has the Thermal Package so it's supposed to be R-18 floor, R-17 roof and R-7 walls. I can tell you for fact the fiberglass in floor was no where near R-18 as it was water soaked. The polyurethane spray foam I replaced it with is a much better insulation and will not absorb water, with the added benefit that rodents don't like it.

It does have the thermal package. After we got the trailer home from Idaho we had all kinds of electrical problems. We discovered that squirrels got into the bottom level and chewed all the wires. Brake wires and tank sensor level wires....pretty much everything. I removed the corrugated plastic and all the fiberglass insulation from underneath. I had to drop all the holding tanks to replace & repair all the sensors in the tanks and replace all the 12V wires. This meant cutting all the drains and vents too. For some reason the squirrels didn't touch any of the 120V wiring. When I got it all back together I hired a guy to spray foam the entire underside with closed cell polyurethane foam insulation. I put in the Horst Miracle Probe sensors into the tanks and I have to say they work much better than the button style original ones. The electrical all works 100% now as do the tank level sensors. The floor is so much warmer with the spray foam instead of the water soaked fiberglass that was in there from the factory. It's also much quieter inside the trailer with the spray foam. There are no cavities for squirrels or mice to get into now, as it's all sealed with spray foam.

Keep in mind that all trailer manufacturers tack fancy names onto what is essentially nothing all that special or different.
They are trying to sell, and "Maximum Fill Insulation," sounds better than, "Normal Fill Insulation."

Is it possible it's spray foam? It's not batt insulation though? Can you pm me a picture of your trailer?

The present owner states that the floor insulation is a sprayed in foam, but he doesn't know about the walls. Is it possible that it is spray foam?
What kind of quality are the 09 Komfort Trailers and what kind of reputation do they have...i see a lot of them out west, but I had never seen one in Manitoba before, so I am unfamiliar with them.
