The CP4 fuel pump issue played a big factor in my choice to buy a Ram in April, 2014. The Ram still uses the tried and true CP3 fuel pump. I agree that GM will likely look after the issue under warranty if it fails but what happens after the warranty expires? Obviously the owner will be on the hook for the very expensive repair which includes replacing almost the entire fuel system. I intend on keeping my truck a long time and wanted the most reliable platform available.
I had 3 Fords over the last 20 years including a 7.3L and 6.0L diesel and am very happy with my choice. JMHO
