What makes up a GVWR rating?
I am wondering what it is in the design of a trailer's frame and suspension or otherwise that gives it a particular GVWR rating. Is it the axles primarily? We have a trailer with a GVWR of 6800 lb...

It doesn't appear that anything short of a new, heavy duty, frame will fix the issue. I doubt that they will offer a heavy duty frame, since they aren't manufacturing them that way. Maybe they will offer a different brand trailer.
It amazes me how many TT manufacturers cut corners on frames, including the famous Airstream brand that costs a fortune.
It irritates me that in the US, the NHTSA doesn't take this issue seriously. If cars were built this way, the manufacturer would be forced to recall them.
