Racer,
The PDf is a info sheet from BC and isn't regulatory in nature and has been floating around RV websites creating confusion. We see the same type info sheets from NHTSA here in the states but if you read down at the bottom of the info sheet where it says :
"Information on this Info sheet subject to change without
notice. In the event of conflict with this Info Sheet and
the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations, the Acts and
Regulations shall apply."
Now visit BC Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations web pages that has 40 divisions.
Only div 19 Miscellaneous has to do with vehicle weights.
Now look at div 19.02 para where it says;
"Provisions of Commercial Transport Regulations adopted
19.02 (1) Sizes and dimensions as quoted in Division 7 of B.C. Reg. 30/78, made under the Commercial Transport Act, as amended from time to time, are hereby adopted as subsection (1) and made a regulation under this Act.
And 19.05
para (4) The gross weight of any vehicle or combination of vehicles shall be the sum of the individual gross axle weights of all the axles of the vehicle or combination of vehicles.
Now visit division 7 commercial transport act and it gives you BC's size and weight codes.
