What mistakes have you made that might help others...?

My mistake was thinking a few bears could not possibly open my trash trailer with its 1/2 inch bars with 1/2 inch plywood bolted to them.

We came out to view the destruction:

The bears, plural, pulled those 4, 40 gallon trash cans right through the opening they made.

Bear claw marks: These all had lids which we coined, "bear pop tops".

I have a cooler with similar markings ..... I didn't realize I was in bear territory and left it sitting out. Lost about a weeks worth of food while tent camping.

I did some repairs on the hinges and kept it as a reminder to not be so much of a tenderfoot.....Heck, a big coon could probably do as pretty good job on a cooler also.
