What octane are you running?

Just curious as to what octane gas is being use. My owners manual states 89 is recommended and 87 is acceptable. I'm getting some pinging with the 87 octane on my new 2012 Ram 2500 when pulling. Switched to 89 octane and it seems to be a little better. I guess I'll be using 89 octane for towing.

    Stick with 89 if that what works, and the manual says its recommended. My mom's Jaguar said almost the same.... "premium recommended" even though 87 was OK. My running on 87 octane made fuel economy 25% worse, so it was ultimately cheaper to run it on premium.
