I was off in my math in an earlier post about using a 2500 8.1L Yukon.suburban
I also realized just now that when towing, the 10,500 RV limit is going to be less than that. Prob in the 9500 range, because all the passengers will be in the TV instead of the RV, so that creates more options for sure.
If this is true, do I really need a custom hitch if I go with the van option?
Yukon I called on said it had max payload (ccc) of 1991 pounds, and then I move passengers from rv to suv, etc... the load in the suv plus est. trailer tongue weight and hitch = 2100 lbs (assuming equal distribution of weight in the trailer), not sure if that is a problem, because I cant find reliable specs. One guy I called said max payload was 1991, but then a random website says: PAYLOAD: 2,737 lbs, which in this case I think would work, but not sure about the weight distribution on the back axel. Where can I get reliable specs?
Also, regarding the HD vans, I am not sure what vans those are. I looked at the tow rating guide and dont see them.
Here are the E-350's that I could find on the tow rating guide:
E-350 6.0L TD 10,000 (i)
E-350 6.8L V-10 10,000 (i)
E-350 Ext 6.8L V-10 10,000 (i)
E-350 Ext 6.0L TD 10,000 (i)
E-350 Wagon 6.0L TD 10,000 (i)
E-350 6.0L TD 9,600 (r,f)
And/or do other vans work?
RedRocket204: We will be full timing, traveling long distance, which is why size is more important than weekend. As others pointed out here, vans can work, and the Yukon may still work. As for sleeping, we are trying to ive the girls their own space, which means, 5+ bunk room. I know this is challenging, but the van option is starting to look good.
