Several judges with varying opinions leads me to believe this is a fairly honest and accurate account of how most people would feel. I agree with almost everything these guys said-
For me it is 90 percent about performance. Looks and comfort certainly factor into the equation as does my past experience with various brands but performance is number one.
If I could get a solid front axle in a GM truck with a Ford interior I would pay double the price. Having said that, I have not ridden in, driven or even investigated a Ram at a dealership in 10 years. I am sure I would want a few of the Rams bells and whistles if I looked at one. :)
I must be missing something. If you like the Ford interior and suspension and put 90% on performance why are you wanting a GM? The Ford was over a mile ahead of the competition by the top of the Davis dam run and now might even have the best exhaust brake.
I test drove a new Ram and was very impressed but, then I got back in my Ford and was even more impressed with it. One of the worst things about the Ford, in my opinion, is that it hops and jumps something terrible when turning a tight circle in 4x4 on dry roads. Ram has come a long long way from the tractor engine bolted between a couple steel rails that they had 14 years ago to being neck and neck or maybe even leading the competition now.
