Glove box should tell you if it is a Dana 70, I believe only the manual tranny trucks got Dana 80's.
Yes the sway bar tends to try to keep the axle squared up to the body/frame. Disconnecting it will help even the weight out on the tires left to right.
What are you running as rear tires? And what pressure.
Chris
The only 70 is see stated in glove box:
"Axle, Rear, Dana M70/26"
(Don't know what the "M" is for, and 70 (maybe dana 70 ????
Have no idea what the "26" stands for.
Rear tires, Michelin AT/2 lt 265/75/ r16 load range E
New in DEC 2014 but also had same traction problem with old tires. Which were the same tire, except 7 years older. And got the most extreme tread design offered.
Empty---65 psi
Towing---80 psi
If I disconnect sway bar, how much will I miss it going down the road or will I? Or maybe no way to tell till I give it a try???
