Since you are not worried about towing, then living in it is your prime concern. I can tell you that my wife and I sent a long time deciding what we wanted.
We could make do with almost any options but it was a big investment for us. So after numerous trips to dealers, RV shows and even renting what we thought we wanted for 10 days; we had a much better feel for what things would work for us. In our case the floor plan was everything, second only to what we could pull.
My point is buying an RV is not a race. The more you plan the fewer surprises you will have. Some of the local campground here will even rent you a unit on site so you can see if you and your family like their facilities.
