Hey Chris. I get what your saying for maybe some longer range vehicles but certainly most don’t need vehicles with more than 300 or 400 km of range which most present EV models are capable of. Most of the fast chargers going in now are at least 100kw. A lunch break takes longer than a fast charge. And if you are driving a Tesla the rates are even faster and the ranges longer. I’m not sure the costs of developing a network of battery swap centres would pay out in the long run or even be relevant in 5 years. Electric vehicle car ranges have tripled in 8 years. Another 8 years and they’ll exceed ICE vehicles.
Who knows where we’ll be in a decade Chris. But it’s a fun time to be alive and drive the new technologies.
