Some will say you need a HDT or MDT and a one ton DRW to pull a pop up.
No truer words have ever been spoken here. (agreeing withjimnlin) - the_bear_IIExplorer"Wait...wait! Are you advocating an MDT or HDT? I'm confused! "

I bought an MDT but really wanted an HDT but my wife and 93 year old dad couldn't climb up into the HDT.
MDT- Medium Duty Truck the type you see used by local delivery box trucks, utility companies, cities.... Now a lot of Super C's are built using MDT cab and chassis. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

450 or higher for safe towing and breaking. At about 12000 pounds you are starting to stretch, a 3500, F350.
Are you talking TT or 5er when you say 12K is near the limit?
With your truck I would haul my 5er no problem and it's about 19K. - ksssExplorer

New 3500/350 DRW will do just fine.
I agree. The latest generation of 1 tons can handle this weight very well.
I would cap my TV at a 5500/550 for this trailer. I run class 8 trucks in my business and while they certainly would not break a sweat pulling this kind of weight, they do breakdown, and when they do it gets expensive, sometimes really expensive, I cant see wagering that kind of money on a vehicle that doesn't make me a dime. Lastly, we take our TH in areas that are not friendly to low slung TVs like these trucks tend to be, and you have to give up 4X4, which may not be a good option either. If your well heeled and you stay on asphalt MDT/HDT's can be good options, they just don't seem to fit well with the TH crowd and the areas that these trailers tend to go. Your mileage may differ. - camperforlifeExplorer

Don't know of anyone that would make that statement.
That TH is definitely 'dually' territory and could even task some duallys depending on their trim level
Well, go out to any popular dune or atv area, and you'll see many trailers this big towed by 2500/3500 srw trucks.
You do realize that all the guys at dune and atv areas have no fear and like to live on the edge. Would you take their towing advise? Just saying:B - TystevensExplorer

In the real world out here any of the newer one ton DRW trucks have tow ratings from 22k to 30k lbs and payloads into the 7000 lbs range all depending on the trucks configuration.
- ib516Explorer IINew 3500/350 DRW will do just fine.
