This happened to our friends who were camping beside us last July for ten days with temps in the mid to upper nineties. My friend called a mobile RV tech who got in touch with Dometic who sent out a new AC unit three days later. The RV tech installed it and got paid by Dometic. My friend only had to pay the $90.00 initial service fee. For the time between his unit breaking down and the new one being installed, he ordered a portable 14,000 BTU AC unit and had it shipped overnight from Amazon, so he was only without AC for one night.
Low voltage at the pedestal is what did in his AC. He didn't have an EMS like I did, so he kept his AC running not knowing any better. My pedestal was on a different leg from his and I didn't experience the same low voltage as he did. He now owns a SurgeGuard EMS and never forgets to use it.
