I'll stay completely out of the weight police issues. From the time I was a small kid, my family always had a large trailer often in those days towed by a sedan. All of my early trailers involved having to custom build hitches, and as I aged, there was more often than not a whole lot of modification needing to be done to my vehicles to make them suitable for my intended uses. My off road vehicles needed all sorts of beef up to the frames, drivelines, suspension and axles, to vehicles drivetrain, suspension and cooling system mods etc. Finding a shop to custom build a hitch, and beef up your frame if necessary should be easy. In my area I know there are several custom shops that do a great job.
