We had to find our way into that step-up after our water tank shifted and pushed against the neighbouring inverter/electrical panel, while on a very rough back road that had us bouncing good in 4x4. The inverter/panel were pushed outward about a 1/4" from the cabinet.
Carpenter DH fixed it after I found the screw heads in the carpet and removed the screws. The water tank had pushed itself to the side and twisted a bit. It wasn't attached, just set on the floor, and held in place with the water lines and inverter/electrical panel.
Now it is snug fit in place with custom cut framing.
