I have always wondered if the raised frame affects the TT's handling. I am assuming the center of gravity must be higher. A lower center of gravity for a better towing experience was promoted in the past by several of the light weight TT manufactures prior to them switching to the flush floor slides and a higher frame. After the switch, there was no mention of this.
It probably changes the overall trailer's height and the increased ability to negotiate dirt roads where in the past the rear might have dragged. Other than that those that 'reposition the axles' to get more road clearance on a lower trailer often cite better handling after the trailer has been raised a few inches.
As to the type of frame, I don't know of a factual body of evidence that one type is any stronger or weaker. It would not be a deal breaker for me.
