All the AMLRV owners have been out camping...not hanging around here...;) - 3_tonsExplorer IIIOn page 4 now, conspicuously missing from our well read pundits list of favorites is Adventurer and Its sister brand Eagle Cap as well as any discussion about over the bed rail design...
- covered_wagonExplorermy favorite slide out TC is a leaky Lite, pumped out Cummins, no rubber matt and no tie downs at a red light.:E
Sorry Reddog, couldn't resist.
I should be careful what I wish for. :S - cartmancartmanExplorerI ordered the Lance 1172, 2 pop outs (rear and driver side),side entry, priced well, multiple seating areas and a dry bath. I sat in the Host campers and really preferred the Lance model over them, even the Host's were about 15-20k more.
- Gary3ExplorerI agree about the tv viewing in the AF they could improve it by mounting the tv on the bathroom wall.(hint hint)
- Nautique200ExplorerYour argument kind of sounds like the same argument I hear when people talk about the Porsche 911. But its still the best all around sports car of all time. Every year it gets tweaked just a little and gets better and better. While the rest are still bench marked to the 911.
The only reason I would consider a Host, Chalet or Eagle Cap would be for a rear slide with additional seating. - 2BLAZERSExplorer

I don't get the comments about the Arctic Fox having dated interior. I still think the interior in my 1150 is the nicest I have seen for both fit and finish and appearance. As was mentioned above I do wish we had a second slide with some place else to sit other than the dinette. The quality of this camper is impressive, I know its a quality camper. I have had zero issues since we picked it up 2 years ago and we use it a lot.
AF does make solid well built campers. They are not flashy but seem to be behind the other manufactures on upgrading things like the one piece front ends, the ''euro'' style windows and those kinds of things. They really just change the outside graphics, put some differnt color options and it's pretty hard to tell one from 2005 to one from 2016.
Ours is a 2011, if we upgraded to 2017 model we'd get really nothing new except, LED lighting everywhere, electric rear awning, one new exterior storage compartment, a spice rack, new versions of radio and ''control panel'', Fox Landing, and stainless steel appliances as an option. All nice things but...just sayin.
Compared to the latest from Lance, Eagle Cap, Host, etc.... - Nautique200ExplorerI don't get the comments about the Arctic Fox having dated interior. - macdale4ExplorerWe had a Lance 945 without slide outs and replaced it with an Arctic Fox 1140 with a slide out. We had it for two years and replace it with another Lance 945. The slide out was just to much of a hassle for us. We travel with two labradors who like to sit with us and that a wasn't possible with the face to face dinette. Also you couldn't see the TV with the slide out unless you were both sitting on the same side of the dinette. No more slides for us.
- Blanco1ExplorerYou guys have me wondering about my '97 Dodge Ram 3500 dually with the Dana 80 rearend?
It's got the heavier rear due to its being a 5 Speed.
But like I said seems the Host are fairly light compare to some of the others like the Lance double slides?
It was while talking to a Lance rep that told me Lance does NOT make triple slides due to weight.
