While I do enjoy a quality machine (any type), it's also hard to justify spending $30K for a trailer that you use 6 times a year for maybe 4-6 years before you trade.
I would be curious to see how much campsites are compared to the US. Private sites here are $60 on average per night. More for nicer ones and less for state sites if you can get one. If they were closer to $20-30/night for private, I could justify (in my mind) an extra cost on the trailer.
The other factor is that other parts of the world don't need 30' trailers with multiple slides. A 30'+ trailer with good quality materials and furniture would weight 10K lbs, making it impossible to tow without an HD truck. I feel maybe US makers put less thought into non-slide units, making them more usable since they can just add a slide to open the space up instead.
With all that being said, my next trailer I will be looking for a step up in quality. I chose my Cruiser Radiance because I felt it was the best quality for the value ($20K), and feel it is a great unit. But, I would like to see what $25-30K will buy me in a couple years once the kids are done camping and it's just me and mom.
No we do not really need 35ft Caravans with multiple slides, as they are a pain Off Road. Any large 40ft + towable is a normally a 5th Wheeler towed by a Japanese Truck as they have the GVWR and power to tow it. US HD Pickups are restricted to sub 38ft units. Caravans like the triple axle below are custom units for people who live and work on the road
