When to worry about Freezing

I live in San Diego, so I normally don't concern myself with winterizing.

At the moment our TT is parked at my son's because of some home remodeling we're doing. It just occurred to me that his place is at about 3000 ft. And it gets considerably cooler there. As a matter of fact according to the NWS its 27 there now.

Of course it will not remain below freezing for more than a few hours and warms to at least the 50's during the day. Question is - Is there any chance for damage in my TT?
  • For short periods of time the water will not freeze enough to expand and cause issue. You need the extended freeze. People camp with temps in the 20's without winterizing.
  • Water freezes at 32 degrees. How do you do with lottery tickets?
  • Hi,

Any colder than 27 F and there may be problems. I'd encourage you to have your son plug in and run a small electric heater in the RV.
