I remember being blown away when we switched from a 1996 Chevy 2500 to an 2002 f350 dually with 7.3 litre power stroke. That was amazing. Couldn't believe the power. Trucks have changed a lot since then. But I'm willing to bet in 20 years you will be driving a dual electric motor with 300 KWh battery electric F350 (pick your brand). They'll probably pull a 10,000 trailer from zero to sixty in 7 seconds flat. :) it'll probably have 17 moving parts...including the wipers. :). I'll probably miss the sound though.
Surely you remember Scientific American in the 80's predicting we'd all be driving electric cars by the 2000's... it took a bit MORE than that ;)
I love electric motors. So much instant torque.
I kinda like the idea of a one seat drone for comuting but that probably is aways away too.
But yah, the torque would be amazing. The model x Tesla can pull its rated tow rate (5000 pounds) from zero to sixty in something like 9 seconds. Now to get that into a pickup. :)
