Thanks for the quick replies! I have a 2015 Grand Chrokee Limited 4x4 with the V6. The 1685 is the largest trailer I'm considering, the smaller Lance is on my list though I haven't seen it yet. I'm also considering the R Pods too. There's just me but I'm hoping to do some long road trips next year when I retire so the extra room in the 1685 would be nice. I've ruled out the Aliner, though it was high on my list last year.
I'm going to the Pomona show tomorrow and plan on looking at weight distribution and anti sway hitches, I assume a vendor will be there displaying them. I have no idea what they look like or how they actually work, just the theoretical reasons why they are required for this combination.
I will always be towing up or down mountain grades, specifically the Grapevine. Since I won't be alone if I can't maintain 55 mph, I'm not concerned if I have to go slower. But how much stress will I be putting on the Cherokee?
