Somehow I recall there are trailers called Toyhaulers that store combustion engine vehicles/toys inside the trailer and it doesn't seem much an issue. Yes, some have closed off garages in toy haulers but there are a large amount that don't.
Will fuel leave a residual smell if it spills? Sure it will. Is it the end of the world? Only you can decide that.
Perhaps YOU should put a small gasoline can under the bed of your trailer in the middle of summer for a couple of days with all the windows completely closed and report back here with how many months it took to get rid of the gas smell..
OK, I will "bite" on this one... but your post was also a bit dramatic, wasn't it?
I do put my generator in my TT, non-toyhauler, and transport it that way. I have yet to notice any gasoline smell because if doing that.
You make it sound like the world is coming to an end by putting one in there. If one is careful, one shouldn't spill gas to where you have to get rid of your TT because of it. Again, it is up to the individual to decide if it is not acceptable but so many dramatic opinions about doing it.
