Where to attach the Breakaway Cable

I have also thought about this. I am guessing if the break away cable is connected to hitch pin hole and the entire hitch fell off it wouldn't operate. Or if the hitch pin hole broke out of the hitch it wouldn't operate. However, if the safety police wanted us to connect that cable to the frame of the tow vehicle seems like hitch manufacturers would not only tell us where to hook it but furnish enough cable to hook it to the frame. :B In the mean time while I am waiting for the manufactures to be specific i.e. furnish longer cables I weave it through the chain and use a separate connector and hook it to the safety chain hole. I use the separate because it seems like that chain hook could break.
