We installed a Fastway Zip cable. Comes with a carabiner. You need to be careful if getting one because they come in two different lengths and should match your existing length.
Positioning of the breakaway switch is very important. Cable/lanyard needs to be long enough to make turns but short enough to engage the switch/brakes before the chains are fully deployed. The cable should never be wound around the chains, bars or frame.
The cable is not supposed to be attached to the receiver so that it the event it becomes partially or totally separated, the breakaway switch will be activated.
There is a great thread/post by Jbarca somewhere on an in-depth analysis he did on breakaway cables andn chains. Can't find it but here is one of his with some links he posted along with photos which helps. Definitely worth reading.
