Me too. Also, has anyone ever experienced a situation where the emergency brakes have locked up? How often does this really happen? What are the results when the trailer wheels lock up? I can imagine it would be a violent reaction and a lot of damage would occur. I can't imagine a TT is too stable on its own with the wheels locked.
You are right. The cable is the third redundant safety backup for catastrophic hitch failure, which is rare on its own. However, the law requires it, so we all do it.
