Did someone by chance run some crankcase cleaner through it? I did this years ago to a 350 Chevy at the insistence of a friend who thought the sludge was going to kill my engine. So I did the 5 minute run, changed the oil the next interstate trip it spun a journal bearing, threw the bearing cap and punched a hole in the pan of my then internally spotlessly clean engine. Money was tight so I had to improvise. I had a rare 7 cylinder 350 Chevy after repairs were made. That was the last additive of any kind I ever used.
