Towing heavy with a Cummins is what it was designed to do and most of you don't even come close to the load stresses these engines are subjected to in industrial applications. Dodge Ram Cummins 5.9/6.7 are only a portion of the engines out there but mechanical devices made by man will have some failures. Very sorry he had a failure but like the rest of us make choice follow a path and carry on. My 1st Dodge went through 2 trans, 1 rearend and 3 alternators. 2nd Dodge trashed an oil cooler 2 clutches and a rearend. Some my usage and some failure outside of warranty but all 3 are still on the road.
