Where to buy?

Now that we purchased our 2015 Lance Travel Trailer, we are starting the process of purchasing the many parts and supplies we need to get before leaving on our first road trip March 29 for 5 1/2 weeks. We have our two Yamaha 2000 generators and will be getting an extra Interstate SRM 27 battery to hook in parallel with the one we received with the trailer.
Wondering where members have found or recommend buying things-Amazon, Camping World, Cabelas or smaller RV places?
  • Towing parts e trailer / Ebay / Amazon / CW / Local RV dealer / WalMart / just depends on what & how quick I need it............ Best deals at yard sales & flea markets.....
  • If you are visiting a local retailer and buying a lot of stuff, make sure the person working that section of the store actually camps!

We had 2 shopping carts full at CW a year ago and consulted with the guy ringing it up as we went. Now a year later I wish he was a bit more honest about a few items, but that's maybe $50 out of a much larger bill.

And it never hurts to ask if they have any coupons or special deals they can make since you're planning to buy a lot of stuff.

I've used Amazon a lot after that initial trip.
  • Sometimes I don't shop for price. For the nit-node stuff when I need it I get it from local guy. Big ticket items I shop around. Don't overlook "smaller RV places". We've had the same RV guy for over 20 years now. Never really thought about it until our frig quit working on a trip and we were of thousands of miles from home. Sure came in handy to call our local guy.

We stopped at big dealership place, because the frig was acting up.

After they looked at the frig and charged 1 hour labor, they told us our frig was shot but they did have a "great deal on a new $2,500 frig and they can install it tomorrow" (for even more money). Called my local guy to confirm what the "big place" said the problem was. Over the phone, at a Lowes parking lot, across from the "big dealership" we we're able to diagnose what turned out to be the real reason.

    A loose wire.

But I did pay about two dollars more for a vent.

Yours is brand new, so you won't have any problems.
  • RV Parts I tend to buy from a local RV parts house or if I can wait for a shipment then PPL Motorhomes Parts online.

Ebay, Amazon & Craigslist for accessories like awnings, generators, BBQ Grills, Electronics...or shop the local stores, wherever I find the best deal.

I find the prices at CW are a little high.
