where to measure to determine if trailer is level

What works for us is putting our level on the floor between the fridge and the stove which is pretty much midship for our rig. Bought some levels for placement on the exterior of our unit but never got around to hanging them and can't remember where they went to. I guess we are accustomed to leveling from the interior during set-up.
