We don't have very much where I live except we do have Trucker stops with scales not far away that I can probably get a close estimate of the weight from. The RV repair place we go to said that we were close to our truck towing weight so I am a little nervous to travel now. Even though we only have towels, pots and pans in it. We have a 2007 Ford F250 diesel truck.
when you say truckers stop, if your referring to a weigh station, you will get very accurate weights, at least as accurate as a CAT scale.
In oregon, the state leaves all weigh station scales open and on 24/7. So as long as they are "closed", I just pull and and weigh as needed. front axle, rear axle, trailer axles. for accurate measurements I repeat with WD hitch un hooked, and to get tongue weight I just put the tongue on the scale and use the jack to lift it off the truck ball. gives me tongue weight as well.
I just pay attention and if I see a trucker pull in to check weights, I pull forward and let them go through.
