- Heavy_Metal_DocExplorerI must say I'm a little confused about brake controllers in the RV world.
I'm just wondering if there some aspect of RV'n that makes the controller more critical than in all other towing with electric brakes? Weight ratios of vehicle / trailer maybe?? Axles loaded closer to their limits all the time?
Since it was part of the "deal", and I know I could change it easily, I let my RV dealer put in their "house brand" when they setup our TV. I didn't even ask, I just figured I'd see what they used. They put in a Reese brand controller and it seems to work fine, but I haven't gone too far with it yet. - usmc616ExplorerI used to use a low quality brake controller, always had issues trying to get it adjusted properly. Then a friend suggested a P3. Once I installed the P3 I enjoyed towing the TT again. Made a big difference.

Get a maxbrake and never adjust a controller again.
After initial adjustment there is no need for me to adjust my P3 again.
Agreed. I expect I may need to adjust it if my brakes wear and I haven't already adjusted my pads. Otherwise, the P3 is plug and play, set and forget.
Bruce - krobbeExplorerOn my truck, with the correct harness, the P3 was plug and play.
