Even though DW is what I call "the Hitch Ball Wizard" (an amazing spotter), there are times (in the darkness, especially) that I can't see her hand signals while backing up. And I can't hear her over the engine noise unless she shouts, which is not so great in a campground late at night. So I am lobbying hard for walkie talkies. Her objection is that they are unreliable and they eat batteries...
I've never quite understood the need for a human spotter when backing to 'hitch up'. Especially all the waving and yelling that is involved.
I do it without anyone helping but here is neat gadget you might like that I have bought for some of my newbie moms that haul their daughters horses I train to shows. They seem to like how easy it makes hitching up solo.

Place one on hitch ball and one on the tongue of TT. The taillights and back up lights will shine on them when hitching up in the dark. Line them up and you are good to go.
For 'backing the RV' into a CG site. That's what side mirrors are for.
I sometimes will use the following to insure I am centered and backed in where need be if the CG site is tricky.
1. 2 orange cones placed at the end of the CG site on either side.
2. If parking at night add a small led flashlight in the hole on the top of each cone.
