Most half ton trucks can tow 6000 lbs. The problem is payload. Look at the tread act sticker in the drivers door jamb. It will give payload as configured. Tongue weight should be 10-15% of total weight. So at 6000 lbs, that could be 900 lbs. If you only have 1400 lb payload...that only leaves 500 lbs for you and yours, and anything else you want to put in the truck.
I know a weight distribution hitch will put some of the tongue weight back on the camper and that you probably won't be at 15% tongue weight...but would rather figure the numbers with a built in cushion than be over payload.
