What is the budget for this truck?
What percentage of it's mileage is going to be empty, non towing ?
How sensitive are you to spending money on normal maintenance ? ( gas vs diesel )
Are you planning on keeping this 5000 pound trailer for a long time, or are you thinking that in the upcoming period of truck ownership, will you buy a heavier trailer ?
....see my point ? There are other considerations here. I agree with one of the above posters that avoiding a 6.4 powerstroke would be a good idea.
