My TV was too big to fit into the cabinet also. I build up the back of the mount so that the tilt/swivel mount would extend outward and point down.
When the TV was pushed back against the hole, I put Teflon tabs on the wall on both sides. With the TV back to the cabinet, the tabs would come down and hold the edges of the TV in place.
In another install I used a wide Velcro strap that went top and bottom. Unzip the Velcro, pull the TV out. I had the DW sew the wide strip of Velcro onto a colorful sturdy cloth and fed it all the way around. The piece behind the TV was securely clamped and screwed in place.
