WHICH ONE DO I BUY?

First off, Hello all and thank you in advance.

Late last year I purchased a KZ Inferno 4012 knowing that my current tow vehicle (06' GMC 2500 4x4 Duramax) would be overloaded but couldn't pass up the deal on the Inferno. Although I have pulled the unit a few times with this truck, I am aware that an upgrade is inevitable. So, here I am now asking for any input on which 3500 DRW to purchase next? I feel like the "BIG 3" are all really close in all aspects these days I am hoping to hear FROM ACTUAL OWNERS of these rigs with pro's and con's that you have encountered thus far with your truck. Please keep the comments to trucks that are comparable to the 2013 models that I will be shopping. I am interested in hearing ANY feedback you have to offer and appreciate all feedback given. Thanks again.
  • Understood. I only listed those readings as a reference. Honestly, I would be thrilled if I could average 11mpg from any of them while towing. All the dodges I have owned always displayed I higher mpg than the actual hand calculated number but my GMC has always been very accurate. I have no experience with Ford. I will be driving the truck daily as my primary vehicle so I kind of need to keep mpg in mind while empty. Thanks for comments.
  • One might get you 11, another 12 while towing. Get what you like. You are going to spend money on fuel. Drive 55 or 60 and you will save money.
  • I would also add that none are bad trucks so I would look for the best deal.
  • One thing I've learned is that you can never trust the truck computer to display accurate mpg, so Don't base your decision on that. You could view it as the dodge has a inline 6 while the others are V8s. Traditionally the dodge gets better mpgs but with a CC dually you shouldn't be shopping for a fuel miser.
  • Thank you. I am hoping to hear opinions of present owners on all aspects. One of my concerns is fuel mileage. I know I can't expect to set any mpg records with any of them pulling that TH but I'm sure some get better numbers than others. I drove a 2013 Dodge 3500 DRW Laramie today and was extremely impressed with the ride quality surprisingly but the display showed 13.6 mpg average at best over the test drive which I think is horrible. Drove 2014 Ford next with a displayed average of 17.2! I am not "a Ford guy" but I refuse to let a name badge cloud my decision this time. Going to drive a Chevy tomorrow and go from there. I hear the Duramax likes to drink the DEF fluid much more so than the other 2 but can't confirm. Sorry so long, I'm just typing what I'm thinking. Thanks agian for the feedback.
  • Can't go wrong with any of the 'Big 3'

Take them all for a test ride........have fun shopping
