DO NOT buy a new Ram 2500 to carry a camper! A buddy of mine made that mistake.
It has an entirely different rear suspension than the 3500 (coil spring vs. leaf spring) and it DOESNT WORK!
The problem is the new Ram 2500 coil springs are set too far inboard. It supports the frame in too narrow of an arrangement. That makes the truck terrible at handling top-heavy loads.
He tried driving his new Ram with his camper and it was so bad he had to turn around and go home.
Get a Ram 3500, not 2500, that’s very important. Or get a Chevy or a Ford.
I’d go to the 3500 from any of the three for camper work no matter what.
Is the new 2500 coil spring config different from my '05 2500?
