Yes it was so loud when I opened the cabinet where it was that it was clear it was coming from the check valve on the bottom of the WH.
I think it stopped making the noise during the second season we owned it. But I'm not real sure when it was because I just got used to it and frankly, my hearing is getting worse and I don't hear high pitched stuff the way I used to. Heck, maybe it still does it and I just cant hear it LOL! (Wife says it doesn't do it though)
