Hi Guys!My wife and I are looking at a White Water Retro 177SE. The trailer is 19' and seems to be very well insulated. The air conditioner that comes with the unit is 8k btu. Now, we live in Las Vegas and while we don't anticipate camping in the desert in summer, most of the places we would camp within a 500-mile radius have summer temps in the high 80s to mid 90s. Will this air conditioner keep the 177 indoor temps down to upper 70s?The salesperson says that due to the very good insulation, we shouldn't have any problems, but then again she gets a commission on selling these units!Your thoughts?

Hi, thanks for responding. The problem is that they have it in the showroom, not outside. Don't know if they'll move it out for me, but I'll ask. I suppose the benefit to the 8k unit is that I could run it on my Honda 2000i generator during the afternoons if I'm dry camping.

Seems to me that you need more A/C than 8K.I use to have a 36' Class A diesel pusher with two A/C units. From the factory, it had two 13.5K A/C units. These two could not keep up with Nevada heat. When one A/C broke, I replaced it with a 15K unit. Then the combination of a 13.5 and a 15K unit kept the inside bearable in a Las Vegas and Phoenix summer.Now, comparing my diesel pusher to your TT might be a stretch in some people's opinion, but I just wanted to give you something to ponder. Hopefully someone with a TT will chime in.

Is the entire inventory stored inside? Do they have another unit outside that is the same size box and cooling unit that could be plugged in to confirm the cooling?

We have a 22ft with a 13.5 which is just ok if we shade the windows and try to keep the door closed. I wouldn't want a smaller AC.

We have a 19 foot KZ sportsmen classic with an 8000 btu side mounted unit. It does get 85-95, hot and muggy here in Maine about three weeks a year. Ours works out ok if you run the AC and keep the roof vents cracked to let out the warm upper air. YMMV.

Hi, We have the same trailer, and A/C unit. Ours will freeze you on low most days. On high it does well anywhere, any type heat. I do have a question for you, though, Where does your A/C unit drain? Our condensation runs out of the cover on the outside of the unit between the cover and the metal on the trailer.

We have a Jayco 184 BH that is around 18 feet long (not counting the tongue). It came with a 5000BTU AC. Our AC is ok but not great. We mostly ask campgrounds for a site with shade whenever possible, and we stay out of the trailer usually during the heat of the day.

Last year, we took it through NM, Arizona, and CA, including spending a night on the edge of the Mojave, and we survived.

Another 3000 BTU, as you would have, would be wonderful for us, so in my opinion, it would be adequate for the Riverside. Hopefully a Riverside owner pops on and can add their 2 cents.

Walk 8 is not large enough to cool 19 in the desert or south.

Here is a data point on a trailer same size but different brand. My 19' Funfinder has a 13.5K btu unit. It will keep it comfortable on any day.... I have had it parked in direct sun on humid days with the temp over 100 degrees outside.
Having said that, I really don't think I'd want a smaller A/C on this trailer.

Is the entire inventory stored inside? Do they have another unit outside that is the same size box and cooling unit that could be plugged in to confirm the cooling?
