deltabravo,
Exactly!
We always have a TC and is used for close outings or distance when pulling one of our larger fiberglass boats or hauling the enclosed Vee Nose trailer for various reasons. Also perfect for festivals and events and/or going to the beach for eating our take-out dinner and watching the sunsets. Don't do much off-road travel exploring any more at our age.
Our TC rigs is also perfect for our Alaska trips and park anywhere as all are truly self-contained including a generator and an inverter with 3 group 31 Deep Cycle batteries to go with 60 lbs of propane (2 30 lb tanks). Why would we pull a biggie trailer or drive our Class A's over 5,000 miles there and over 5,000 miles back just to have a place to sleep, eat, use the bathroom and try to find a CG site large enough for and during a 9-10 week trip. Pulled a large 5'er once up there and NEVER again! Makes no sense at all! Love being nimble handling and stopping where we want to whether is at a CG or whatever.
The 5th wheels and big Class A's were and mainly are for our 2-1/2 month wintering in Florida and visiting family down there. Home away from home as we'd sold our getaway place down there we had for 19 years. Miss it like a broken arm! Yes, even towed a boat behind the 5'ers and MH's many years until some southern states changed their laws. Even double towed many years after the changed laws and never was stopped and it really didn't matter anyway as we kept a boat in Florida too for the 19 years too. Boats like RV's, no one type or size does everything well or floats our boat. We want what we want when we want it! So we get what we want and then have it! Only going to live once and better make the best of it because you cab never turn the clock backwards! It's all over when the fat lady sings and your memories of the past doings and enjoyments are yours forever as long as you are conscious and breathing and they can never be taken away from you by others!
In between were many TT's and a couple Class B's etc for various reasons and uses.
Simply stated: Excuses don't and won't hack it but real actions do and will!
And is why we are such longtime "travelnutz", land, sea, and air!!
