Wet bath IMO is for some who cant afford a larger dry bath unit, or dont have the truck to haul it...

I'm hearing two themes from the WB crowd,

a) wet baths are much more roomier inside

b) wet baths take up less room outside

I'd argue that these discussions often get cloaked in the notion of what works successfully in a smaller camper vs a mega camper. We've owned both and would say that in this regard one must make a distinction between a smaller camper and a mega camper with slides.

In our former non-slide 9-6" camper a wet bath was no doubt a requisite, and it worked out well, but still we lacked sufficient interior floor space. Needing more space, we went with an EC 995, a 10-2" camper with a 'dry bath' and just one slide we now have waaay more open floor space than before. Even with the DB, the difference of adding only 6" in length and one slide is HUGE! Fact is, a 11-6" camper can be quite cavernous.

As I stated, wet baths do work out fine, but to some its not just about real estate...Dry baths are found only in the larger floor plans with slides FOR A REASON - the space is available!

The OP is likely not talking about the typical 9-6" (< >) non-slide camper...If you look at the larger floor plans with a dry bath and slides you might even think that you're in a 5th wheel!!

Our Lance 500 had a wet bath, and it was totally unusable.

Our current Host Mammoth has a dry bath, and it's simply incredible for the space it has.

I wanted a dry bath but found an older camper in like new condition and passed on another one slightly larger more used truck camper.

My wet bath is plenty big. I plan to change the fan to a better quality quieter fan on a timer to help dry it, but it is a low priority.

Wet or dry--it does not matter either way. The big issue is the size of your gray water holding tank. I was stunned to see how fast mine filled up using the shower. I prefer the outside shower for this reason.

Wet/ Dry they both work. The one advantage that a Dry bath has for me is that I can hang wetsuits, waders, wading boots and a float tube in the shower to dry / drip and still be able to use the toilet without moving anything out of the way.

To the OP.. Look at them and stand in them...You will see. Why be stuck with unhappiness IMO... Do your home work..

You have the truck I assume... so go for long tern happiness. This way you dont say,... we should have bought this or should have bought that...

I don't understand where you are coming from. In 2008 I ordered a new AF1140. I ordered it with a wet bath, guess what it comes either way and for the same cost. So your argument holds no water for me, I could have had it either way but we chose the wet bath for more room in the camper and not in an area we don't use that much during the day. I also had plenty of truck to haul any camper I wanted. It was loaded on a 2006 F550 with a GVWR of 17995#. There was no camper on the market that would overload this truck.

I now have a NL (one of the more expensive campers made with a non slide) and it is a wet bath but it is designed a little different. When we pull the shower curtain closed it isolates the toilet from the rest of the shower so it stays dry. There is also a towel rod in the same area as the toilet so it stays dry. I'm 6'1" and 250# and I have plenty of room to shower. We went to Alaska last year and was gone for over 2 months and we showered in our camper every day while we were gone whether we were in a campground or not. Never used the campground showers or bathrooms.

We have had 5th wheels (up to 38' with stacked washer and dryer, granite counter tops, the works), MHs and TCs. In all of my 5ers and MHs were dry baths. In the TCs we prefer the wet. It has never been about money for us as we buy pretty much what we want.

I think you had better use common sense and realize that your ideas are not necessarily what everyone else wants.

Why don't you add into your signature line what type or RV you have.

Hasn't ever been a problem for us. A few minutes a day is all you are in the shower. Now the recliner for relaxing after driving all day....PRICE LESS!

I also use an outside shower and I would do so whether I had a dry bath or a wet bath. The idea of filling up the gray water tank with shower water doesn't appeal to me. Besides, I don't want all the dirt in the camper.

In a perfect world, a dry bath is nice, but then you give up the extra space somewhere else.

We are on our 2nd TC w/wet bath. We shower pretty much every day when travelling. Have spent up to 1 month on the road with 3 of us, no problem.
1st TC had small wet bath, used it daily as noted.
New Eagle Cap has larger wet bath, use it daily too.

A couple of suggestions;
Replace vinyl shower curtain with quick dry polyester
Drape the shower curtain AROUND the toilet so it does not get wet.
Towel is hung on hook behind curtain while showering also-keeps it dry and handy when needed
Use chamois for quick wipe down of shower(keeps it clean too)
We place a wooden rack on floor during day time. Take it out for shower, put it back after. This way shoes with sand etc don't scratch the floor and you don't have to step on a wet floor with socks (DW hates this!)
Open the vent and run the fan a few minutes after shower, dries real quick.

Keeping the wet bath in our TC clean is much easier than keeping the dry bath in our AirStream clean...

The 116DS is awesome. Very roomy, big tanks, love the recliners. We can get in our EC 850 with slide in also. This is handy, but to be honest-no big deal to open slide.

I could never understand the wet bath/gain outside storage issue. All our toiletries are kept inside the dry bath storage cabinets where they belong, and there is a fantastic amount of storage in our dry bath. With a wet bath most of that stuff has to be stored somewhere else. We probably carry more stuff than we need but its nice to know that its in the bathroom where it belongs.

All of our TC's have been wet baths (4) and never had a problem. Unless we are boondocking for more than 4-5 days without a water supply we shower every day. Like others have said one of the mico-fiber cloths takes maybe 2 minutes and everthing is dry. Maybe if I had a 40' class A then maybe a dry bath would be nice.
