The liability from your policy extends to damage caused by you. The quickest way for the other people effected is for them to use their own policy to pay their damages then their company will subrogate against the wrong doer. only down side is that a deductible must be paid up front which will eventually be returned when the claim is settled. If you have the time, simply work with the wrong doers company to settle the claim. DO NOT get attorneys involved. Just work with the insurance company, do a little homeword as to the value of your loss then settle. If you get greedy and use a attorney, your settlement will be much less than it would have been if you simply worked with the insurance company.
