There are a few of us here who tow with mid-size trucks.
I’ve never had a problem towing with our Frontier including 4 cross country trips.
Trailer Life did a review of the diesel Colorado and was very favorable towards it.
As long as you stay within all the weight parameters, there really isn’t any reason not to go with a mid-size truck.
