I tow with a 2015 Canyon, V6, 6 speed automatic.
It does very well with our KZ C201QB, which has a gross weight of 5200 lbs. I have towed it to the coast of South Carolina, thru the mountains of North Carolina to Pigeon Forge Tennessee without any issues. Driving 50 mph or faster, it will not stay in 5th gear. Running in 4th produces plenty of torque without too high of rpms. The newer 8 speed I would think would provide at least one more gear for towing. I will be headed to Stone Mountain NC next weekend.
